(1) There shall be a Railway Administrator on the Board to act as the Administrative Head of the Board.
(2) The Government of Nepal shall appoint the Railway Administrator from among the persons who fulfill the following qualifications:-
(a) Nepali citizens,
(b) Recognized Education: At least: Master's Degree in Engineering from an Institution,
(c) having acquired experience of at least eight years in the field of railway or road transport, and
(d) Thirty-five years: Completed age and not exceeding sixty years of age.
(3) Until the appointment of the railway administrator as per sub-section (2), the Government of Nepal may appoint a gazetted first class officer of the Nepal Engineering Service under the civil service to act as the railway administrator.
(%) The term of office of Railway Administrator shall be maximum of four years.
(5) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (4), the Government of Nepal may at any time remove the railway administrator from the position of railway administrator if he does not fulfill his official responsibilities, if he takes any action contrary to the interest of the board, if he engages in any bad conduct or if he lacks efficiency.
(6) In accordance with sub-section (5), he shall be given a reasonable opportunity to present his justification before he is removed from office.
(7) Remuneration, facilities and other conditions of service of Railway Administrator shall be as prescribed.
